Follow-up assessment and reflection

In unit 3 I rated myself an 8 in psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. I feel that I’m still an 8 in each area although I do feel less stressed and overwhelmed due to the implementation of the subtle mind exercises. I guess I feel like I need more time to compare then versus now. I have definitely taken some steps that have increased my well-being and have definitely grown in my integral health journey.
The goals that I set in during week three include: 1) maintaining my current level of fitness and eating habits, 2) increasing my spirituality through implementing prayer into my day more frequently, 3) implementing relaxation exercises daily to promote greater psychological wellbeing.
I have continued with my physical goals in maintaining the level that I was at in week 3. I have felt short of implementing prayer into my day more frequently, but have increased my level of spirituality by developing a greater sense of gratefulness and being more forgiving. In the area of psychological wellness I have not implemented relaxation exercises daily, but feel that the level of implementation that I have achieved has had a great impact on my ability to calm my mind and be more productive.
Knowing how beneficial these practices have been for me will make it easier for me to share the integral health approach with others. Having the experience of my journey and some measurable outcomes to share will serve as proof of the effectiveness of integral health approach to achieving sustainable health, authentic happiness, and genuine wholeness.

  1. Those are great goals to have to implement into your daily routine. I believe we all can benefit greatly in many ways from regular relaxation techniques. The cool thing is there are so many options of activities which offer therapeutic aspect that impacts psychological and emotional health. I would say that after this entire course that prayer and the real power of belief are the most important parts of elevating our lives from a holistic(integral) perspective! There is zero doubt in my mind now that pharmaceutical drugs do no positive good for people and the American way of treatment the physical component of human beings while neglecting the psycho-spiritual is at the root of our high chronic disease rate. You did mention forgiveness increase which is really awesome because I took to heart the text in the consciousness and healing book on what forgiveness does for our physical body! As a Christ follower and strong believer, I definitely believe in forgiveness's great power because I have seen it first hand in myself over the years through letting go of intense bitterness and anger towards my mother from divorce which created a huge ripple effective in making my life more difficult for years in the financial area which has made life unenjoyable at times while missing out on social relationships that others may enjoy. I can say truthfully that nothing is impossible if we continually and consistently seek God's way of thinking, speaking, and behaving! Sometimes we need to just let go of past hurt and trust God to be our avenger because He will bless us in front of our enemies. He can take us from the back to the front. He has the universe in the palm of His hand which means He can bring the bring people and opportunities across our path that He knows is not just good for us, but best for us since it's His deep desire to give us a life that is full of abundance while lacking nothing. I speak blessing over your future as a professional! Feel free to shoot me any ideas that you have as we can help each other in pursuit of our dreams. Believe big. Grow-up. Sow seed. Do the Impossible.

  2. even though you have said you haven't changed you score you have still benefited from the exercises, gratefulness and forgiving. I think that is great and anytime we improve it is worth a lot. I think that you will do great in what ever you choose as you have a plan. As long as we revaluate our plan and hold ourselves accountable we will do well.
    Good luck

  4. Brandy,

I also have had difficulty trying to implement meditation/relaxation into my schedule. I think that as long as we know in the back of our mind that we want to improve on incorporating this then it will continue to become easier. I wish you the best of luck Brandy, thank you for being a part of this transformational process with me!
